Disney

I recently took a trip to Disney World, with my dance team Pizzazz, we went to compete in Dance and Pom. Without really knowing what our competition would be like, we went down there confident. Also, we tried out to be in the Magic Kindom parade, which we ended up being chosen for. So, let me take you through my weekend in Florida.
When we first arrived in the sunshine state at 12pm, we were more than excited. Coming from Ohio which was 30 degrees when we left, it was a treat to be in 80 degree weather. We had 2 free days to do whatever we wantted, so of course we went to Downtown Disney and Epcot, along with Hollywood Studios. The weather being perfect, and the lines for rides being short, it was a great few days. But, as you know, not everything can be perfect forever.
Saturday was the day of the parade and we were all dressed and ready to go. Being told that we would march at 1:45, was a bit off. We went behind the scenes in Disney to get ready at 1. Unfortunatly we had to wait for two hours, and no one knows why, but finally at 3:00, burnt and tired, we finally marched. Lucky for us the adrenaline kicked in, otherwise it wouldn't have been a pretty sight. Once that was over, we had the rest of the day in Magic Kindom.
Sunday morning at 6am we all awoke and put our uniforms, make-up, and hair pieces in for the big competition later that day. Arriving at 8am, we sat around and practiced. First to go was our junior team at 10:30, who had a great performance. They danced again at 12:45, followed by senior team, the team I'm on, at 1. We danced again 20 minutes later and had two amazing performances that made the judges say "Wow"! Later that night we went to Hollywood Studios for the award ceremony. Recieving 4 first places, and choreography of the year, we were ecstatic. To celebrate the win we stayed in Magic Kingdom till 3am, which was fortunatly open to people staying at Disney hotels. Sadly, I had to leave Monday morning. It was such a great trip. Well, that was my eventful weekend in disney, hope you enjoyed reading about it, have a magical Disney day haha.

The Michael Jackson Experience

As you may know, Michael Jackson died June 25 2009, which was known world wide because of his imense talent. Dying from cardiac arrest, Jackson was gone at a mere 50 years old. He was about to put on 50 concerts in the summer all around europe, mostly london.With his death being such a surprise, people felt left behind in the dark. His talent will live on forever.
Like the well known game, Just Dance, a game was created all about Micheal Jackson and his legendary moves. With some of his greatest hits,  including Beat it, Billie Jean, Bad, Remember the Time, and many more, this game is intense and very fun. You also get great exercise and can play with up to four people. His iconic moves are made easy, and you will pick them up fast.
I recomend this game because not only is it alot of fun, it also gets you moving on one of those lazy days..and yeah we all have them. Get active and pick up the Wii controller. Also The Michael Jackson Experiance came out January 6th for xbox kinect.You should seriously think about getting this game, it will improve your dance skill, so that you won't be embarrassed at you next school dance, or possibley you could show up that know it all dancer who thinks they got all the right moves. My friends and I play this game all the time, its a true classic game. Buy it

Introduction

   I'm Alexis Detzel and this is a blog about my life. I am 16 years old and I am a dancer and cheerleader. I love spending my time at the dance studio. Im writing this blog for my journalism class which is very fun and interesting. The thing I like most about the class, is that we get free time to work on our blogs.
   Upcoming events in my life would include, dancing at two high school basketball games, and going to Florida for a dance competition. Also, while in Florida I will be marching in the Disney Parade with my team, we were chosen for the parade. I will most deffinently be getting my tan on while im down there. The type of dance i take part in, would be a mix of cheerleading moves and hip hop.
   At my high school, i'm currently in fun interesting classes, such as Advanced Photography, Contemporary Socail Issues, and Word Proccessing for College, along with other basic classes. I love to take photos because you can capture such exotic things and make them into art.
  Some more things that you can learn about me are, my favorite color is pink, I love to sleep, and my favorite food is ice cream. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and going new places. I also love going on vacation! Here are some of the places I have been; Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, France, The Bahamas, Mexico, The Caribbean, and a few states. One place i would love to go to is Australia.
